2024 Virginia Nurses Foundation Leadership Excellence Awards and Virginia Magnet Consortium Awards

 

To be eligible, in addition to any criteria listed in the category descriptions, the nominee must:

  • Be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Be employed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Have a history of enhancing the image of professional nursing, providing service with respect for human dignity and the uniqueness of others, and promoting the scholarly activities and/or professional development of self and others.
  • Be available to receive the award the evening of the event.


Nomination Instructions

All VNF Leadership Excellence nominations should include the following:

  • Supporting narrative that addresses criteria (500 word maximum)
  • One letter of support (Should be written by someone other than person submitting narrative)
  • Nominee’s curriculum vitae 

Categories include:

  • Direct Patient Care Leader - Patient Safety
  • Direct Patient Care Leader - Patient Experience
  • Public Health Nurse
  • Nurse Manager/Director
  • Nurse Educator
  • Nurse Researcher
  • Nursing Informatics
  • Public / State Government Service 


All Virginia Magnet Consortium nominations should include the following:

  • Supporting narrative that addresses criteria (500 word maximum)

Categories include:

  • Transformational Leadership
  • Structural Empowerment
  • Exemplary Professional Practice
  • New Knowledge, Innovations, and Improvements
  • Empirical Outcomes

To support nominees at the Gala, the Nursing Professional Governance Organization (NPGO) will conduct a review of all nominations received for consideration. The most robust and complete nominations will be put forward by UVA Health University Medical Center for inclusion in the VNF Leadership Excellence Awards.
